Description:

New Tech Staffing is currently seeking a Quality Technician for a manufacturing client in Cleveland, TX. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity.

Pay: $18/hour (entry-level quality pay)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours/week, Day Shift

Summary:

Responsible for ensuring all incoming, in-process, and finished parts meet internal standards and customer specifications. This includes inspections related to shot peening, coating thickness, and final dimensional checks. The role supports quality assurance, documentation, and collaboration with production and engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other tools
  • Verify compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards
  • Monitor and document shot peening intensity, coating applications, and surface finish
  • Assist with non-destructive testing (NDT) such as dye penetrant or magnetic particle inspections
  • Maintain accurate inspection records per ISO 9001:2015 standards
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Collaborate with production and engineering to ensure product quality
  • Participate in internal audits, calibration tracking, and process improvement
  • Identify and report nonconforming products and assist with proper disposition
Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in quality inspection/control in a manufacturing setting
  • Proficient with precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
  • Ability to read technical drawings and apply GD&T
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
Preferred:
  • Experience in shot peening, thermal spray coatings, or metal finishing
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems
  • NDT Level I or II certification
  • Knowledge of coating thickness measurement methods
