St. Luke's Health Memorial Hospital in Livingston, Texas

Prepares food for patients, staff, and visitors of the healthcare facility following safe cooking techniques. Prepares food for multiple therapeutic diets and complies with state and federal laws and regulations related to food preparation in a healthcare environment. Supports quality control measures such as recipe adherence and food quality consistency.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and serves food within guidelines of menu and dietary requirements, using required kitchen utensils and equipment.
  • Follows healthcare foodservice industry standards, regulations, guidelines and procedures including monitoring and maintaining food temperatures during cooking, holding, and storage processes.
  • Maintains labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery.
  • Performs washing and cleaning duties to ensure sanitation & cleanliness in cooking and serving areas.
  • Other duties as assigned by the leader.

Job Requirements:

Required Experience:

  • One (1) year Food Service experience required
  • A Food Handlers Permit is required within 30 days of hire

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • HS/GED diploma
  • Cooking experience

St. Luke's Health - Memorial Hospital in Livingston, TX, is located just off Highway 59 south. The 66-bed hospital provides more than 60,000 patient services each year, with half of those services being offered in the Level 4 Trauma-Designated Emergency Department. Services offered include, Orthopedic care, Women's Services, and a state-of-the-art Sleep Center. Imaging services include MRI, CT scan, nuclear medicine scans, 4D Ultrasound, cardiac echocardiograms, fluoroscopy, bone density scanning and 3D mammography.
