The right candidate for this position is someone with extensive experience in Safety who will support our projects. This person will constantly be responsible for successfully integrating safety initiatives into the functional operation of the different projects by maintaining processes and procedures to prevent injuries and violations of the law or company policies and minimize the environmental impact of our operations.

Summary/Objective:

Reporting to the Production Operations Manager and/or their designee the Shop Operations positions will perform the tasks/duties as listed below. The position is responsible for assembling and fitting structural, plate, and mechanical materials into various assemblies.

Essential Duties (other duties may be assigned):

Fitter/Fabricator

  • Assembles and fits to drawing dimensions all kinds of structural, plate, and mechanical materials into various types of assemblies. Must be proficient in the full skills of the trade. Receives instructions, prints, sketches, and work orders. Reads and interprets blueprints and plans the fitting operation.
  • Layout, fit and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as frames, bridge parts, beams and columns.
  • Read and understand fabrication drawings.
  • Use dimensions and fitter skills to layout and fit detail parts accordingly.
  • Verify accuracy of fit up prior to sending to inspection.

Education/Experience:
  • Previous extensive experience is required for all aforementioned positions that will be acting in the capacity of leading a team of production employees.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and/or 12 months of training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Able to read shop drawings.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Experience in overhead crane operation helpful.
Certificates and Licenses:
  • Current OSHA certifications preferred.
Work Environment:

This job operates in a non-climate-controlled production/manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses hand tools. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Hours of work may change based upon the needs of the business.
