Position Summary:

The Marina Store Attendant is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of the Cape Royale Marina Store and surrounding areas. This position involves customer service, cash handling, merchandise inventory and sales, facility cleanliness, safety inspections, and enforcement of marina rules. The Attendant ensures a welcoming, clean, and well-organized environment for residents and guests while upholding the standards and procedures outlined in the Marina Operations Manual.

Key Responsibilities:

Store Operations & Customer Service
  • Open and close the marina store daily, including balancing the cash drawer at the start and end of each shift.
  • Sell fuel, merchandise, snacks, and other store items to customers.
  • Assist boaters with docking and operating the self-service fuel pump.
  • Keep displays organized and merchandise attractively arranged.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and always provide excellent customer service.
Inventory & Supplies
  • Assist with maintaining accurate records of store inventory and restocking as needed.
  • Purchase store supplies and merchandise under the direction of the Community Manager.
  • Monitor inventory levels for store, fuel, and restroom supplies.
Cash Handling & Financial Reporting
  • Maintain the accuracy and security of the cash drawer throughout shifts.
  • Prepare and document daily revenue reports.
  • Prepare daily bank deposits and deliver them to the POA drop box for submission to the bank.
  • Ensure all financial documentation is accurate and submitted timely.
Facility & Grounds Maintenance
  • Keep store interior clean and orderly (including windows, counters, floors, and restocking shelves). Remove trash and take it to the gas tank area (trash is picked up on Mondays and Fridays).
  • Maintain the cleanliness of piers, docks, and the fuel dock area.
  • Sweep/hose piers and walkways as needed. This includes pier lighting.
  • Ensure the fish cleaning station is cleaned regularly.
  • Keep restrooms clean and stocked with necessary supplies.
Safety & Compliance
  • Perform daily inspections of piers and report maintenance needs in writing to the Community Manager.
  • Monitor marina activity for safety and compliance with posted rules and regulations.
  • Issue verbal warnings for rule violations and document recurring issues via incident reports.
  • Follow all Marina Operations Manual procedures consistently and suggest updates when needed.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by the Community Manager or Marina Committee.
  • Ensure watercrafts are compliant with lease agreement regulations regarding registration and cleanliness.

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree preferred).
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Previous customer service or retail experience preferred
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient and accurate handling of cash and completing financial transactions
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in outdoor environments.
  • Must be TABC certified or willing to become certified.
Physical & Working Conditions
  • Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, lift, reach, and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varying weather conditions (sun, rain, humidity).
  • Must be comfortable working near water and around boats and fuel systems.
Additional Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or reach frequently.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools, equipment, and machinery safely.
  • Visual acuity to inspect equipment, read gauges, and perform detailed tasks.
  • Hearing ability to detect alarms, equipment sounds, and verbal instructions in noisy environments.
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise, outdoors).
  • Ability to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work varying schedules, including evenings, weekends, on-call, and overtime as required.
Work Schedule
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • Seasonal hours may vary depending on marina activity and staffing
  • March through the end of October
