We are currently growing our team of Artisans with an Operations Readiness Specialist for Rizon - A Refined Technologies Company. This pivotal role will play a key part in supporting the successful onboarding and scaling of new client accounts across refineries, petrochemical facilities, and terminals. This role will be responsible for bridging the gap between initial operational setup and full-scale commercialization, ensuring a smooth, efficient handoff that aligns with client expectations, RTI's standards while exemplifying RTI's Mission and Core Behaviors. This role demands a strong understanding of field operations, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to excellence.

Duties & Responsibilities

Startup Planning & Coordination:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive operational readiness plans aligned with the startup schedule.
  • Lead readiness reviews and track readiness gaps with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, HSE, Quality, Maintenance)
  • Ensure integration of chemical additives operations into refinery-wide operating procedures and systems.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain on the order and delivery of chemicals and equipment
Process & Procedure Development
  • Work with Rizon technical and operations teams to write and validate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and Emergency Response procedures.
  • Assist in the creation of Control of Work documentation including JSAs/JHAs, Application Manuals, and Response Plans
  • Serve as the safety lead, championing a culture of safety and ensuring adherence to all regulatory and site-specific safety protocols
Training & Competency Assurance
  • Coordinate field training programs specific to fuel additives systems.
  • Develop training materials in collaboration with Technical Service Team
  • Validate that Rizon Account Representatives and Technicians are trained, qualified, and competent before startup.
Operational Readiness Testing:
  • Lead commissioning and pre-startup safety reviews (PSSRs) of equipment and chemical
  • Oversee equipment functional testing and field verifications.
  • Ensure all startup checklists are completed and signed off.
Communication:
  • Maintain regular updates with stakeholders on readiness status and critical path items.
  • Interface with third-party vendors, contractors, and suppliers during integration and commissioning phases
  • Develop relationships and regularly interface with clients' maintenance, operations, engineering, and turnaround teams.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • A minimum of five years process engineering or operations at a refinery or chemical plant
  • Highly proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be familiar with operations of refineries or chemical plants. Able to:
o Train a team

o Become familiar with RTI technologies,

o Communicate clearly and effectively,

o Efficiently and effectively handle multiple activities at one time,

o Perform field service/lab testing

Working Conditions / Physical Demands
  • The Company requires passing a pre-employment physical in which an objective medical professional will determine whether you can safely meet the physical demands of the position.
Duration of Workhours
  • Typically, 9-hour workdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (including 1 hour for lunch) that may extend up to 12+ hours if an emergency need exists
  • As needed based on contract scope, but normally 5 days on-site per week (Monday-Friday)
  • Weekend coverage as needed
  • Night shift as needed
Working Conditions
  • Uneven or unstable ground, and wet, muddy, or slippery surfaces and footings.
  • Outside locations in extreme temperatures and weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, and other forms of inclement weather.
  • Routine, intermittent exposure to noise more than 85 dBA-TWA.
  • Environments that may necessitate the use of respiratory protection
  • Medical clearance to use respiratory protection is required.
  • Quantitative fit testing for specific respiratory protection is required.
Physical Demands:
  • Work at heights up to 150 ft/ 45m accessed via stairs, climbing ladders, or critical lifts by cranes. This requires the ability to climb ladders and stairs without issue.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 40lbs., without assistance.
  • Pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs., without assistance.
  • Standing and walking for up to 12 to 16 hours daily with minimal rest breaks. May exceed 10,000 to 15,000 steps per day.
  • Bending and stooping repeatedly and performing tasks including twisting or turning valves and using wrenches and hand tools.
Travel Requirements
  • Ability to travel to assigned customer account
