Technical Looker Developer and Consultant – GCP

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Looker Consultant with strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support analytics and reporting initiatives for a leading healthcare company. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing, developing, and optimizing Looker dashboards, data models, and healthcare analytics solutions, ensuring compliance with healthcare data standards.

• Design, develop, and deploy Looker dashboards, data models, and visualizations for healthcare data analytics.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to translate healthcare domain requirements into scalable BI solutions.
• Optimize Looker data models and explore LookML for performance and maintainability.
• Integrate Looker with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulatory standards in data handling and reporting.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and clinicians to deliver actionable insights from clinical, operational, and financial healthcare data.
• Provide end-user training and support for Looker dashboards and reporting.
• Troubleshoot performance and data quality issues in Looker and GCP environments.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in BI/Analytics with at least 2+ years of Looker development.
• Proven expertise with LookML and Looker administration.
• Strong experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), especially BigQuery.
• Healthcare domain experience is highly preferred (EHR, claims data, clinical data, HL7, FHIR standards, etc.).
• Proficiency in SQL and performance tuning on large healthcare datasets.
• Familiarity with ETL pipelines, data warehousing, and healthcare data governance.
• Strong communication skills to work with clinical and business stakeholders.

Nice-to-Have

• Knowledge of FHIR/HL7 data models, healthcare interoperability standards.
• Experience with HIPAA-compliant data handling.
• Familiarity with Python or R for advanced analytics.
• Experience with data visualization best practices in healthcare reporting.
